Joan & Bob Part 2:  Painting with Bob for Season 1 Episode 2 is the fucking worst.  It took Bob 28  minutes to create his “master piece”.  Joan reports it took two and a half hours to follow along…Bob used 3 brushes to her 14 (14!!!!) brushes.  Cleaning 14 brushes is a shit show.  Now…to be fair Bob is using real oil paint and “Joan” is using water soluble oils…it’s a bit different.  Oh and by the way “liquid white” is just thinned out white paint…and “magic clear” is just water.

I think I saw that in episode 3 we paint on a black gesso’d (how in hell does that really get spelled?  gessoed?) canvas.  I have, sorry, Joan has very strong feelings about painting with anything that’s actually black.  Always mix colors to get black otherwise you have a mud problem.  Bob goes out of his way to create the opportunity of a mud problem for his victims though…so in advance fuck you Bob for the black gesso.  But thank you for not using actual black paint in season one…I know it’s coming though.

Another thing to know about painting with Bob…shit I forgot. Joan’s thoughts are fleeting.  Oh yes, this season it’s all one color pallet…if you need to know what they are see the notes that accompany Ep. 1.
